Introduction:
This book will help to teach children to be responsible for their animals and
to recognise acts of cruelty towards animals. The AACL work hard in educating
children from a young age in an effort to teach them the true meaning of loving
an animal. They strive to educate school and pre school children about the importance
of how to love an animal by caring and accepting full responsibility for them.
This is a fun and educational product that assists in creating an understanding
of caring for an animal so as to avoid cruelty of any kind.
The authors, Josephine Cànovas and Roy Harding tell the story of Tony who
is Beagle-cross-Labrador. He's a fairly large and happy dog with a great sense
of responsibility and sensitivity towards others. Join him with his friends Dusk
(a fearless grey cat) and Boomerang (A cross breed terrier) as they recount tales
of their experiences with people and with the AACL.
Volume 4:
Tony and Friends Volume 4 is a brand new story of Tony and his family taking a
holiday in KwaZulu-Natal. Tony has a tremendous time and makes new friends by
connecting with Peter and Graham (from the Peter and Friends story). The family's
drive down to Durban was not without drama whilst Tony's adventure at the crocodile
farm was truly educational. The story builds up to time spent back at the game
farm with a very famous artist, Lisa Halstead, who just loves painting pictures
of all sorts of animals.
In volume 4 Tony's adventures help the publishers introduce a number of very interesting
and even travel related aspects to the special care and attention that an animal
like Tony would require, as he shares some of life's more special experiences
with his family. Like no other book available on this subject in South Africa,
Tony will capture the imagination of the child while learning the important values
that relate to the prevention of cruelty towards animals and how to be responsible
when caring for them.
