Introduction:
This book will help to teach children to be responsible for their animals and
to recognise acts of cruelty towards animals. The AACL work hard in educating
children from a young age in an effort to teach them the true meaning of loving
an animal. They strive to educate school and pre school children about the importance
of how to love an animal by caring and accepting full responsibility for them.
This is a fun and educational product that assists in creating an understanding
of caring for an animal so as to avoid cruelty of any kind.
The authors, Josephine Cànovas and Roy Harding tell the story of Tony who
is Beagle-cross-Labrador. He's a fairly large and happy dog with a great sense
of responsibility and sensitivity towards others. Join him with his friends Dusk
(a fearless grey cat) and Boomerang (A cross breed terrier) as they recount tales
of their experiences with people and with the AACL.
Volume 1:
Tony and Friends focuses on three main characters who describe through their eyes
what the AACL is all about. Through their own personal experiences as well as
those of other animals who have suffered from cruelty or carelessness of their
owners, they each tell their story of how they came to be at the AACL.
Teacher Approved:
This is another 'Teacher Approved' product. This symbol shouts best quality educational
product. Teachers from different schools in South Africa have given Tony and Friends
along with Peter and Angel and Friends their stamp of approval.
CD Song and Story Book:
When purchasing the 60 page story book you receive a supporting CD, which includes
12 songs contained in the stories. The CD not only narrates the entire story,
buit also features 12 songs contained within the stories of the book, helping
the child read the story and visualise the characters too. All tracks were produced
by Clive and Glenys Harding of the 4 Jacks and a Jill. The CD can be enjoyed independently
of the book too... perfect for road trips!
